Six Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 schools were recognized for starting the year off with strong attendance, district officials said in a statement.
The Lake County Regional Office of Education's Attendance & Truancy Division hosts an annual competition to see which schools can rack up the highest attendance rates during one September week.
