Overview
Tools to support practice improvement conversations and collaboration among educators seeking to improve learning conditions
Each Observation Checklist offers a set of questions that a colleague might consider while sitting in on a class; including:
- 3-5 questions aligned with each learning condition principle
- 1-3 questions for the observer to ask students
Who are these resources for?
These checklists are for anyone who would like to improve classroom learning conditions. Educators—school leaders, teams, and teachers—and school partners might use these checklists if they are:
- Collaborating with one another on practice shifts around a chosen learning condition
- Supporting educators to engage in continuous improvement
When are these resources most useful?
These checklists can be used as part of cycles of continuous improvement. They are useful:
- At the beginning of an improvement cycle, to gather more information, that can inform the types of practice shifts teachers may choose
- In the midst of an improvement cycle, to understand the effects of practice shifts or other improvement efforts
- At the end of an improvement cycle, to weigh next steps
