Micah Daniels is a Research Analyst I. She has been working with the UChicago Consortium since 2020, the year she graduated high school. She began as a youth participant in the NEXT System, then was hired as a research assistant in 2021 and is now a research analyst. She also worked as a Youth Organizing Coach for the National Equity Project from 2020 to 2023, working alongside students, teachers, and administration to create equitable change within their school districts. Micah hopes to contribute a diverse perspective to the Consortium team, combining her experience working in education and equity with her knowledge of neuroscience. She has a strong passion and belief in the power of youth and the liberation of education and is excited to be part of a team that has made improving schooling its mission. Micah is endlessly inspired by her historical heroes James Baldwin and bell hooks. She likes to spend her free time discovering and reading articles and books as well as staying up to date in the world of fashion (her current favorite brands are Sandy Liang and Alaïa)!
