Alissa Matthies is the Operations and Project Management Specialist at the UChicago Consortium on School Research. She supports research activities across the UChicago Consortium through designing and maintaining core operational practices and developing resources for the team.
Prior to coming to the UChicago Consortium, Alissa worked at Northwestern University managing research projects in the Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine and serving as a Senior Analyst for their Institutional Review Boards. She also previously worked at the University of Illinois’ Survey Research Lab where she got her start in research as a field interviewer.
Alissa believes in building a robust infrastructure to support and amplify the efforts of the entire research community, and approaches her work with an open mind and helpful spirit.
In her free time, Alissa volunteers at her neighborhood community center as an adult literacy tutor. She is also an amateur potter, turning clay into functional pieces from which to enjoy coffee and her favorite bakes.
