Alicia Chen

As Survey Coordinator at the UChicago Consortium, Alicia develops content for the 5Essentials and Early Education Essentials surveys. She is interested in describing the ways that school environments affect students’ learning and outcomes, and using survey data to provide insights for school leaders and stakeholders. Alicia has had a wide range of experiences working with and analyzing data. As Evaluation and Quality Improvement intern at Youth Guidance, she analyzed survey data measuring the growth of social-emotional learning of participants in the Becoming a Man program. As Project Assistant at Chapin Hall, she managed the storage of Illinois administrative records in a PostgreSQL database for access by researchers. Drawing from her background in biological sciences and statistics, Alicia is passionate about using rigorous data insights to contribute towards education reform. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys biking by the lake.
