The positive impact the Cultivate Survey and framework has had on improvement efforts and student experiences at Schurz
In this video Dr. Heidy Moran, the Principal of Schurz High School in Chicago, shares insights on how the Cultivate Survey and framework was used to center student experience and drive improvement at Schurz.
Empathy interviews and Cultivate data provided insights into students’ daily experiences which sparked deeper partnership between students and adults, and enabled Schurz High School teachers to shift their instructional practice. By centering on students' experience and engaging students in partnership around improvement, the school saw measurable improvements in school and classroom culture, adult-student trust, and student belonging and agency—forming a cycle of continuous growth and positive change.
