Director of Outreach and Communications
UChicago Consortium seeks a Director for Outreach and Communications to serve as a member of the Consortium senior leadership team and contribute to the mission and growth of the organization. The Director will lead the Consortium’s outreach and engagement activities with the local and national education community and the larger public on our research findings, as well as internal communications within the Consortium, the Urban Education Institute, and the University. The Director will set and guide the strategy for the Consortium’s communications, including research dissemination planning, media relations, branding, and effective use of social media. The Director will maintain, strengthen, and develop relationships with key constituents in both the local and national educational policy and practice arenas. In addition, the Director will help the Consortium develop new and innovative ways for communicating its research findings to inform education policy and practice. UChicago Consortium seeks a Research Scientist to lead quantitative research and evaluation studies inform policy and practice in the Chicago Public Schools. The Consortium is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in teaching and learning, elementary education, or postsecondary education. A successful Research Scientist candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading research projects, with a quality body of work. She/he will demonstrate expertise with advanced quantitative research methods and be able to communicate complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences. He or she will work with local educational policymakers, school administrators and practitioners, funders, and other researchers.
