Yoon Soo Park is working with researchers at the UChicago Consortium to refine measurements of teacher observations. He is interested in applying psychometric models to examine rater characteristics and investigating the association between observer precision in teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
Park is Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Education at the College of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his PhD in measurement, evaluation, and statistics from Columbia University. His research interest focuses on statistical modeling of educational and psychological processes using latent class models and item response theory models. This includes the study of rater behavior in performance-based tasks and diagnosis of skills mastery. He also conducts applied measurement research in medicine and in public health.
