Steve Raudenbush is leading a study of the effects of UChicago Charter on student achievement. Consortium researchers are working with Raudenbush to examine the outcomes of lottery participants compared to the population of charter school students. Raudenbush is also working with affiliate Takako Nomi and the UChicago Consortium on a study of that decomposes the effects of tracking and detracking into curriculum effects versus sorting effects.
Raudenbush is the Lewis-Sebring Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago and Chairman of the Committee on Education. He received an EdD in policy analysis and evaluation research in 1984 from Harvard University and was a Professor in the School of Education at the University of Michigan from 1998 until 2005.
