As the UChicago Consortium’s Development and Communications Coordinator, Alida assists with fundraising and stewardship activities associated with the Consortium Investor Council, a group of philanthropic foundations that support the UChicago Consortium. She also assists with outreach and engagement around the UChicago Consortium’s research findings. Alida joined the UChicago Consortium after graduating from college, where she was a managing editor of the student newspaper, a teaching assistant, and a student liaison to the Title IX office. She was fortunate to gain professional experience through summer internships at Oxford University Press, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity. Through these experiences, Alida developed a keen enthusiasm for the non-profit world, as well as an understanding of the value of effective communication and philanthropic work to that world. Born and raised in Minnesota, she has also been involved with various political campaigns in the twin cities. Alida brings her commitment to the power of local politics and conscious, community activism to her work at the UChicago Consortium.
