Stephen W. Raudenbush

Steve Raudenbush is leading a study of the effects of the UChicago Charter on student achievement.  Consortium researchers are working with Steve to examine the outcomes of lottery participants compared to the population of charter school students.  Steve is also working with affiliate Takako Nomi and the UChicago Consortium on a study of that decomposes the effects of tracking and detracking into curriculum effects versus sorting effects.  Steve is the Lewis-Sebring Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago and Chairman of the Committee on Education. He was a Professor in the School of Education at the University of Michigan from 1998 until 2005.
